6. 3.73's
7. stock = 265/70/17 BFG Rugged Trail
8. no cap or cover
9. K&N air intake and 4 in turbo back exhaust. I got at least 1 mpg with the exhaust. After the intake was done I had no increase mpg increase.
I do 50% city, 30% towing and 20% highway at 16 mpg average. I got over 17 mpg after the exhaust was done. The truck has low miles so I'm looking for around 18 mpg with some more miles are reached. I would like to get a highway mpg experiment done but every time I do I end up towing during that tank and it ends up combined. I work with a guy that has a 5.4 gasser and gets just over 10 mpg with out towing and it down shifts on most hills. Towing or not the diesel seems to be consistent for me within 1-2 mpg.
2. Supercab 4 door

I have checked my mileage at almost every fill up. I do mostly in town driving with an occasional interstate cruise.
I average 15.9 mpg
I would love to see what I get on the interstate on a long trip.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts

Diesels are proven to be more efficient and have better longevity than a gasser, so why not buy one as a daily driver especially if you drive 30,000+ miles per year?
To your point though, the "Mall Cruiser" metality confuses me.

I voted for 15 MPG. I generally average right around 14.5-15.5 MPG with my usual driving around Denver--a mix of about 70% city & 30% highway. I tend to be a bit heavy footed though.
Going through the SE corner of WY with no wind, I have seen 18-19MPG on the interstate with the cruise control set right at about 70 MPH. With that area's usual wind, I generally get about 17-18 MPG.
Overall, I'm content with its fuel economy, or lack of, as some would view it. The truck tips the scales at slightly over 7,800 pounds, and it has the rough aerodynamic profile of a brick. Besides, it gets better fuel economy than my 2000 Dakota Quad Cab (5.9L) used to!

5. 2WD or 4WD=4
6. Rear gears=3.73
7. Non-stock tire size=295/75/16, I think a 33in tire
8. Cap or no (if a P/U)=Retrax Cover
9. Any aftermarket accessory that has had an effect on your mileage if it is far off the forum's average.=I have always got around 17-20, just depends on how heavy my right foot is. The Retrax Cover and the Edge Platinum did not significantly increase MPGs, but I sure do like them. Also put on an MBRP exhaust and Airaid intake. All these mods did not have a big effect on MPG. I hand calculate my MPG and figure in the new tire size, always get around 18.
