I don't know about anybody else, but I didn't register as anything when I registered to vote. Screw the party politics. One over-priveledged white guy is as good as another as far as I'm concerned, so I don't care where they line up. They cant even make false promises in their campaigns anymore because they are so concerned with winning the election, they have to bash the other guy instead of really talking about the issues.
Welfare? Please. I applied every year for financial aid for school and every year I was denied Federal assistance because I made too much money, and so did my mom. WHAT? I was making 8 bucks an hour working 25 hours a week so I could study, and my mom was making $11 an hour at the grocery store. I had to beg the school to finance me, break down my tuition into payments. When I got behind, I got kicked out of school. I still apply every semester, and I still get denied, even without my mother's income as a factor. So I don't care about welfare, I can't get any of it. I'm too something or not enough something to qualify. But boy I pay my taxes!
Sorry, but I hate that rich guys in suits get to screw me every day and get away with it. But that our government...

>ultramagdan, thank you for proving my point. i happen to
>take conservative economic views but i don't portray all
>democrats as losers who won't work like the mudslinging
>intital post. once again it's clear why most americans
>don't vote

The initial post didn't portray all democrats as losers who won't work. It portrayed democrats as those who give away other people's hard earned money to those who won't work. Big difference.

Funny thing about the initial post, when I read it I took it as a joke. Nothing more, nothing less.

I once met a good Democrat--once that is !

"Them lousy Republicans! The only thing worse than a Republican is a Democrat!"

As H.L. Mencken once said, "Every election is a sort of advance auction sale of stolen goods."

INLINE SIX POWER! '95 F150 XL
300 Cubic Inches of Low RPM Truck Torque! And twin-I-beams too!
"Drive a stick young man! There'll be time for automatics when you're old and unable."

The "Stolen Goods" in this case is the Trust the voters place in their elected representatives and senators in that they assume that when elected "they" will represent the particular interests of their district in congress.......But , as we all know , "they" are so busy carrying out the mandates assigned too them by the Lobbyists as well as the national party organizations that they are NOT the masters of their own destiny and the "money" is the Problem ...........Not only are they derilect in their responsibility too the voters that elected them , they cannot devote the requisite time required to really perform the job that they were elected to do!!!!!!This situation is pervasive throughout both houses of Congress and although not explicitly Illegal is in total Disrespect to the Intentions of the Founding Fathers who wrote our constitution in my opinion.....fd

Thank you fatdaddy, couldn't have said it better. Of course, I have no clue how you push campaign-finance reform through a government full of LAWYERS- wishful thinking, I guess.

It was getting too quiet here after the elections. The post really was intended as a joke, especially knowing (perceiving) the majority of FTE leans towards the right. Probably should not have bold faced the type, that made it look more serious.

We'll all kiss and make-up soon.:-X12

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Dec-02 AT 05:53 PM (EST)]There's actually 2....Forgot Bob Dole.

I really think Dole would have done much better in his run for President had the Republicans allowed him to be himself. Don't know if it would have been enough to win, but it couldn't have hurt.

Oh, you got that right rikfish! That guy was FUNNY!!!! I loved it when he used to be on Letterman or Leno. He was a little too sarcastic for some people, but I eat that stuff right up! Thanks for reminding me- anyone want to try and make it 3?

Some observations I've made: Dems= legalized dope is the base prerequisite of their campaign. Take that away and they will turn on you. Dems= think living on welfare is a fine career choice. Dems= want you to have the best standard of living that they can make others pay for.
