I think my fuel pump is starting to go out. With other vehicles I have changed old mechanical pumps for electric pumps wired to a hidden switch. It just sounds like changing out the mechanical pump is a lot of work. Has any one found a way to use a electric pump to re-place the mechanical one?
yep theres alot of us runnin electric fuel systems now, the way the regulator is setup though it aint cheap to go electric. by the time you setup filtration, regulator, and pump and the lines your in about $800 atleast if you do it all yourself.
im running a mallory 110FI pump, mallory regulator, dahl 150 filter, ran 5/8" to the motor and 1/2" back, its definately a project also. set up a pressure switch offthe oil pressure to control the pump.
if you have a stock injectored rig the mechanical fuel pump works great and lasts a long time.
