Green Air Filter Replacement
I suppose folks will be debating the reliability of stock versus aftermarket filters forever. I do know that in our 1993 Jeep 5.2 liter, we have used a K&N drop in filter for the last 140K miles and at 160K, it runs great. I did notice I seemed to get a little more power off the line and it got a little better gas mileage. In those total miles, we towed a 6,000 lbs. trailer for 45K miles.
Green has a website at www.greenfilterusa.com. I think if I have turbo problems again and have to take the truck to the dealer, I'll probably break down and buy a Ford filter so they can't blame the problem on me. All in all, the Ford dealers have been very accomodating but the 2003 6.0 has spent more time at the dealer than any other vehicle we have owned. And that includes British cars!
"The replacement of the filter shall be the sole and exclusive remedy to which Green Filter USA is obligated and to which the original retail purchaser is entitled. Green filter USA shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages of any kind resulting from the order or use of its products. These damages include but are not limited to reimbursement of the original purchase price, and any other special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Any defective Green Air Filter properly returned to the factory will be replaced for a handling charge of $14.95. Green Filter USA will not be responsible for any costs incurred in making the warranty claim. Any warranty claim must be sent at customers' expense along with proof of purchase. Green Filter USA reserves the right to determine if all terms of warranty have been met. Green Filter USA shall be under no obligation to honor this warranty." (emphasis added)
I placed a call to the CEO of Green Filter USA to get clarification on the intent of the warranty and left a voice mail for him. He did not call back. Given Green's warranty and failure to respond, I concluded I couldn't take the risk of having their product in my truck which has 2 years left on the Ford factory warranty. I ordered a new Donaldson filter last night. I suspect Green filter USA is an independent US distributor of Green Filters and is not a subsidiary of the manufacturer.

Hopefully, your first hand dealing with this company will assit others in either not trying this "green filter" or at least making an informed decision on their own.
The stock filter (blude synthetic media) is generally good for 40,000 - 50,000 miles depending on driving conditions.
Enjoy...
