Polarity

OK - I've found a new 6V generator at NAPA mail order - will probably stop by the local NAPA store to see if they have one here in Denver. But they list them as polarity "negative" or polarity "positive". My 55 is positive ground. What's that in terms of "polarity"?
I know I probably should switch over to 12v neg. ground and be done with it all - but hey, I figure, I'll work my way up through the "good ole days" (dim lights and hard starting).

You want the polarity "positive" generator. Same as positive ground.

I have an Interstate 6V battery, the best they make, in my 55 and never a problem starting.

Don't use 12v battery cables and it will start just fine. The original 6v cables are a heavier gauge wire to carry higher current.
