1990 E4OD same as 1994 E4OD

hi, i blew the tranny on my 1990 F 250 w/460 & E4OD. i found a new tranny that's coming off of a 1994 f 250 w/same motor. i just wanted to know if there were any differences between the two different years of trannys. thanks!!

It seems I read on here that they made some minor positive changes in 92 but for the most part are the same.

I think in 95 some internal stuff was redone, like more supports and more clutch bands. Thats also the year a lot of the computer controlling was changed. Pre 1995 E4OD's torque converters locked up after 2nd gear and then went into 3rd, continuing to OD. After 95 and later the TC locked up after 3rd unless WOT was present in 2nd. But as for 90-94 I don't think much changed. I'm sure some internals are probably different but it was definately for improvement as shooter stated.
