300 to 302 conversion

what motor mounts(the mounts that bolt to the frame), will work for a 302 in a 1976 Ford F250 4x4.

I'm not sure what you mean but I'd say the mounts for a 76 truck 302...

In 1976 no ford trucks came with a 302. Ford didn't come out with the 302 until after 1976. I have some towers for a 78 400 that were notched but they don't line up with the existing drilled holes on the frame. So im thinking of just welding the towers right to the frame.

K well thats good to know thanks man. Ive been having a tough time finding towers for a 4x4 around where I live but I will keep looking. Think towers from a 74 F250 with a 390 would work?

yea ive been on that site before as well, but im thinking towers from a 360 will work and alot easier to find for 76 because in that year its a more common motor.

On another form i read that if u slide the stock straight 6 towers back they will work, because there are 2 positions you can have the towers at.

Might be a dumb question, but why put a 302 in? Unless it is hopped. My opinion.

I believe the "highboy" frame is narrower which means the mounts are unique to the frame, which only came with an FE or 300(these are the same, only in different locations, the 351W/302/351M/400 are another, and the 460 is another). Maybe a 2wd with 302 mounts might swap in, I don't know, but my guess is you're looking at welding them in. Then you need the rear sump oil pan, throttle cable, and radiator, etc.... My 2 cents.

300 towers

I tried moving the straight 6 towers back a position but the holes didn't line up so im not sure what to do now. 2wd mounts are different then 4wd mounts because they are bolted or sometimes welded to the cross member.

How 'bout 68? I've seen plenty of pre 76 trucks with a small block in them.
