I posted and did a search in the FE section also.I have a 65 250 352 c-6.The kickdown lever does not get engaged by the throttle linkage.Does anyone have a picture of their set up?It is a Holly 4v double pumper. The only numbers I could find are
3165
list 4776-1
This make any sense to anyone?
Thanks
Joe
That carb does not have the kickdown linkage pictured on the Holley website. What you will end up doing is purchasing a Lokar c-6 kickdown cable. I installed on my 4160 series carb on the bottom of the throttle shaft plate. I can take a picture of my setup if you want to see the total package I installed from Lokar. It will run you about $90 but will be smooth as glass. The other advantage is the system is totally adjustable. My carb does have the ford kickdown attachment.
I did a little ebaying for a picture of a holley with the kickdown on it. I am going to try and describe it to you so bare with me. Looking from the driver side of the carb you will see the throttle linkage plate that your throttle hooks up to. There is another lever between the throttle plate and the main body of the carb. It has a cylinder mounted horizontally 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the top. The cylinder is where you put your kickdown. You may need the kickdown return spring kit that holley sells to pull the lever back as you decrease the gas. Does this help?
Thanx for the reply.I would like to see a pic of your kickdown set up.You desciption makes sense and sounds like my set up till you get to the part about the cylinder.Maybe I'll check out e-bay for pics.
