I have a F150 SC with a 5.4L and 4WD. I notice that after I have been running it a long time, like 2 hours or more, the back end shimmeys quite a bit when I come off a stop and start to accelerate. It does'nt do it through out the whole acceleration just the very beginning (maybe 1 or 2 seconds) and I never feel anything when I am up to speed.
I also noticed a lighter version of this when I start up the truck and have to make a turn at the same time I am beginning to accelerate. It diffenatley seems to be more severe the longer the truck has been running.
Had the same problem with my supercrew 4x4. Turned out it was the clutch packs for the LS rearend. Runs great know. Can't beleive I drove it so long with the vibration. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. What is the "LS" (left side???)? What did this cost you? Did you have it serviced or do it yourself.
I had the same thing happen with my '01 4x4. It only happened on long trips. Took it to the dealership and they added some "friction modifier" additive. The service manager told me Ford doesn't put enough in from the factory. No problems since.
That's the only time in my truck's 91K miles that it's been to the dealership.
