power door locks pelase help!

ok guys I have couple questions. I am changing my truck over from manual doors to power. I got the wiring hooked up and all of the switches work. the window motor when pluged in works and the new actuators also work great! now my problem is how do the actuators hook up to the door locks? what do i need to hook them up and get them to make the door locks lock and unlock?

thanks,
jimmy

Mount the actuater in line with the rod that moves with the door lock, conect that rod with the rod from the actuator.

Riveted to the door. Will have to bolt em in there. Should see the dimples in the latch area just south of the latch around 6inches.

On mine, the door lock actuator rod connects directly to the door latch mechanism.

I am thinking of putting doors on my truck that have PW, PM, and PL in them. My truck has manual doors on it now. Will all of the wiring be there to plug the door harness into to operate the power doors? 1978, did you have to modify any of the wiring to hook everything up?

velcro, no, it won't. There is a harness that goes across the truck behind the dash that you would have to add.

If you purchase a keyless entry system, you can easily run two wires per actuator through the rubber grommet in the doors and just use an aftermarket system. Goto a local store and purchase the DEI 451m DOOR LOCK RELAY MODULE and that will interface with the switches and alarm.
