My Dash Lights And Instrument Cluster Is So Dim (almost Black) That I Cannot Read The Gauges. This Probobly Won't Work As An Excuse If I Get Pulled Over For Speeding, So I Need Help.
The Headlights Are Not Affected, Nor Does Hitting The Gas Pedal Have Any Affect On The Brightness Of The Dash Lights. I Take This To Mean That The Alternator Isn't The Problem, But I'm Just Guessing. I'm Hoping This Is Some Minor Problem.
im with trigger. rotate the dimmer switch up and down several times. may need to take it apart and clean if that dont work. probably as corrosion or bad contact.
Sounds like it might be the dimmer, but I know in my truck, most of the dash lights were burnt out. I took the cluster out, and replaced all the lights but one, and now they all work!! ..... except the one I didnt change, Doh!
I found it extremly easy. All you do is undo some screws, take the plastic off from around your steering column (made things alot easier), and remove the cluster. Then to change the bulbs it is really easy, just twist the platic holders, and replace!
