I dropping a fresh rebuilt 302 motor in my daily driver, a 74 short bed, soon. The old 302 is well worn but still running pretty good with a drink of oil now and again. How much trouble would it be to put the motor in my project truck, a 66 Ranger w/ a 352 automatic? As always thanks for your help.
I did the same swap. You need to use the 302 steel engine towers and motor mounts from a 69 to 79 F-Series that came with a small block from the factory. Some say that the same parts from a 400/351M will also work, but I can't verify that. You'll have to drill a couple holes in most cases. E-mail me if you would like some detailed instructions or help. sauerf100s(No Email Addresses In Posts!)
I might be wrong, but the C4 that is probally behind your 302 has a different bellhousing than the one currently behind your 352, as well as the flywheel of course. Of course, if you are installing both the 302 and the C4 in your truck, there are no problems!
