^^^ woman I worked with this winter left for christmas break in a F150 supercrew, came back in an 06 3/4 ton GMC sportin a duramax fully loaded, black on black. Nice interior, smooth ride...but it aint ford tough!
/hijack
I figured my mileage to be about 12 city 15 highway (MPG)...werent some of the other stock guys getting around 18 highway, 15 town?
what the d-max in my sig??? i cant wait gonna get me one next summer when i get back from the gulf!!!
Why would you want to go and do something like that? The tranny sure shifts nice but it aint Ford tough, that's for sure. The independent front suspension doesn't even begin to hold up like the Dana 60. But they do ride like a Caddy. I heard a lot of girls are getting them now. We will sure miss you when you've moved on to the Chevy forum. We really like having you here with us. You going to sell the F-350?

I'm in no way trying to talk you out of buying a chevy, nore am I flameing a GMC product, I work for a city that use to buy just all fords, had thier problems but so does other car makers, the city of winnipeg switched up to GMC and cheavy trucks ranging from 1500's to 3500's DRW, 2x4's to 4x4's. at 50,000kms where changeing the brakes, 80,000kms were starting to see front end parts being swapped out, 95,000kms mulitiple U-joints are siezing up and may I add $226 a u-joint x 3 of them, dealer part of corse. 105,000kms were already starting on tune ups. Then alot of micky mouse **** all over the playing field. On the duramax, nice engine, lots of power, had one of the duallies spec'd with a standard, blew the gear box out already, 3 duramaxes in 3 3500's and all of them recieved injectors at least once. Duramax engines in our 5500 van trucks, still have on going issues for power dropping out and CEL but dealer cannot find problems.
the City is not the only one with these issues, Provencial highways department apprently are having the same problems but more so with other concerns cause thier taking them off the highway due to thier job. nothing but problem and have since switched back to the new 2006 F-150's and the only problems thier having with them is the wiring harness on the frame rail on the driverside is porrly secured and rectified with zip ties and thier 2nd problem is thier shockes being mounted outside opf the frame rail, thier taking those out but been good to this point in time.
The 2003 Fords, brakes hold out to 110,000kms, when they come in for tune ups they usually have 180,000kms and some of them even as high as 230,000 before they pull in for a tune up, U-joints are getting kicked out at 150,000+ but also to add less frequently. The only Ford fault that I've been seeing is on the F-450's, thier draglinks and tie rods are **** and the 19.5 inch rims sieze on the hubs requiring a hyd jack between the frame and tire and a sledge to pop them off. Clean them up though and use an anti sieze compound and never a problem afterward. The 6.0 powerstrokes, at this point every powerstroke we have on the service trucks and we have 7 service trucks, everyone of them had the turbo's replaced, we cant keep the turbos in them but like said, driven really hard.
Like said, I'm not trying to slam anyone or any company for that mater, in respect, these trucks are driven a little harder then the average joe blow would so he may not expearence these faults that I've witnessed.
