my wife has both. a 04 fx4 and a 05 explorer. she uses her fx4 for her busness and the explorer gets the kids around and the grocies home. jmho, each truck has its place, you have to decide which one belongs at your place. i suspect though no matter what we say and think, the wife gets what she wants lol.

You got that right. I found out that when it comes down to the final vote and decision, all tie votes go to the wife. I ask my wife all the time why she asks for my input when my answer doesn't matter.
I feel you on that. My wife is saying the exp but I am running for the F-150 Screw. We will see what happens. I keep bringing up facts and reasons about why we need and f-150. Most of all its for the aftermarket products I have been looking up.
My wife and I have had both since th early 90's and both have been very good vehicles for what they are designed to do. The exp's have had some minor issues but nothing major and the F150's I can say the same. The 2 biggest complaints I've had with the explorer is that I feel a little cramped especially with the moon roof and I'm only 6' tall so I would'nt advise this vehicle for a tall person. secondly every exp I've had rides good for the first few thousand miles and then they seem to start getting more than a little on the rough side.
I now have an 06 F150KR Screw and I have to say that this is the most comfortable, best riding truck I've ever been in, and one more thing I always found even with the suv, I would always wind up needing a truck for something and the suv even an expedition would not have handled it. Good luck in your desicion.
