Mad...glad to hear your alright. if that bullit had come flying past my head, I probably would have been so scared, that I'd probably backed up and hit him again, just to make sure he stopped shooting. Thats not a joke......I won't waste a single tear for him, or anyone like him, and I won't apolgize for feeling that way....."Built Ford Tough"
I don't know, maybe its just me, but I find it sick that there are jokes about a dead guy. He wasn't just some scourge. He had some problems. We all do, he just had more, we all have strengths and weaknesses. I think its ok to talk about this, but not joke about it. This guy was a son, maybe a brother, maybe an uncle, maybe a husband, or even a father. I don't think its right to joke about his death.
Yes, he was a scourge and if he couldn't solve his problems without threatening someone with a gun he deserved what he got. We have all been though some kind of hell in our lives but we didn't try to shoot someone else to solve it. I have absolutely no sympathy for this person and ending his life was a favor to all of us...AND we can joke about it if we want!
ha ha ha !!..great job!..i had a sort of same kind of situation last spring..me & a bunch of other ironworkers decided to go to a bar one friday night after work..after about 3 hrs there they all left & i decided to just stay there & get a cab to a motel for the night because my drive home was an hour away..some girl was coming on to me strong...while dancing i caught her tryin to pick my wallet off outta my back pocket..didnt make a big scene just got away from her..well when i went to leave..3 guys approached me outside saying i was messing with one of the guys girlfreind in there..(found out later this whole crew has been known to sceme & rip off people)..so long story short..i got one of em REAL good but they were whoopin my butt..finaly i got into my truck to get away because the cab left because of the scene going on..one guy smashed my side window & reached in..i grabbed his arm..floored the gas pedal..threw it in gear & one of the other guys was in front of my truck..my famous last words to the 2 of them was"Lets go for a ride boys!!"..drove it right thru a Krispy Chics front window with the guy in front on the hood..they TRYED to press charges while they were both in the hospital..cops just told me i wasnt getting ANY charges from them but i have to show up for a warrant hearing for a judge to decide if the charges those guys were pressing was legit..they didnt even show up in court because they KNEW was goin to get turned around on them..for a while the 2 that went for the ride kept calling me & saying they needed there medical bills paid..i always told em"see ya in court with MY insurance company AND the parking lot video the cops have of the whole incident..kinda funny they never called back ....

so we should sympathize for the guy who clearly had intentions of possibly KILLING an innocent man?...i think NOT...if it was me..id of hit him a few more times just make sure he wasnt able to pull the trigger again..i dont have an OUNCE of respect for people like that...
Sorry boys, I agree with Sovereign53. While I wouldn't hesitate to kill someone in a similar situation, I find it disgusting to throw a party so we can dance on his grave. This whole discussion has become Jr Hi-like. The fact remains a human life was taken and that should be sobering to us - not fuel a feeding frenzy.
The guy got what he asked for. I'm sorry it happened - for everyone involved.
I for one....DO NOT agree. (that person didn't qualify as "human life")
There are some that will use the same argument for not having a death penalty. I submit that there should be no death "penalty" just a death result.
If that person had not died he might have killed someone else at a later date.
The death "penalty" is NOT very effective preventing murder.
It 100% EFFECTIVE preventing the person from doing the next murder! It gets easier for killers to kill after the first one......so killing them breaks the cycle!
I'm sorry Mad had to be put in that situation. I think anyone of us would have done the same thing regardless of our personal opinions on the matter.
This is a Ford Truck forum!
My 292 is coming along!....gonna put it back together and put it in the F-600!
Pics to follow in my Gallery!
Cheers Y'all!

Under the circumstance, I may have done the same thing, for sure though, I would have felt bad afterwards. I would never brag about it. Out of step with most everyone here I know but what is most puzzling for me at least is the fact that (according to your bio) Madathlon, you're are a Chaplain. Unless I have missed something along the way, I would have thought your position would be somewhat different.
Did this incident get any coverage by the local news? I tried to do several google searches to see if there was anything out there about it, but nothing comes up.
Yes Hunt.. Im a Retired Army Chaplain.. And I know that Killing is wrong.. But even the lord would understand why and I have asked for forgiveness.. And it was the the persons choice for what he tryed to do.. But beside being a chaplain.. Im also a Single father with 2 boys.. A Son to my Mother and Father.. So when it comes to choices.. He made his.. And so Did I.. And its a choice I can live with.. Im still here for my boys.. I may not have been if he had his way tho.. He is now facing the lord for his sins.. He will face the lord and pay his dues or who knows.. he maybe even forgiven.. I did give him his last rights.. And I have forgiven him for his sins as a mortal..
Ht: it happen in Redding and Id love that cup of coffee

Rick, I agree with everything else you wrote. But 'that guy' was "human life".
No different than you or I genetically - but he did make some really stupid choices in life. His last one cost him his life. But that doesn't make him less than human - in fact it proves he was human.
What I'm hearing in this thread is hateful superiority and bravado. Not from Madathlon, but others. Mad just reported the facts as they happened.
I deal on a regular basis with people like him who have made incredibly dumb decisions and have ruined their lives and the lives of everyone around them. If you look past the stupidity and ignorance you usually find someone who was just trying to get by. Fearful and feeling alone in the universe they just act out whatever idea comes to them. Drugs have intensified the frequency and severity of the effect on society - alcohol included.
I'm an active pastor in a country congregation, but I do 5th step counseling for one of the top drug/alcohol rehab facilities in the country. I get to see the worst of humanity from the streets around the world, delivered and sitting clothed and in their right minds. Not everyone makes the transformation: some die later back out on the street. But it's all about choices! Make the right ones, life works. Make wrong ones and pay the price.
This thread is a good example of how off topic discussions can divide us. It draws folks away from what we have in common (trucks) to areas where there are millions of strong and different opinions. There's other great blogs and forums where you can debate capital punishment, drug treatment, etc.
