i guess these scientists don't have anything better to do, who actually pays these guys?
my life sure isn't any different, i wish they would concentrate all their brain power on solving a real problem than debating off and on whether something is something or isn't something.
i wonder how much our all so smart GOV will pay now for all new school books?!?! i sure hope they don't think of the cheaper method everyone else uses and just cut and paste in a revision.
didn't it say like only 300 out of 7500 attending scientist even voted? seems it wasn't to important to many of them.
I'm in favor of keeping Pluto... it's been around long enough, I think. Why should'nt it be a planet? I say, if it's big enough to drive a tractor on and not in orbit around another planet, it's a planet!
Rest in peace, Percival Lowell, and godspeed, Clyde Tombaugh.
I kind of like the above "rule" and sentiments...
It will be interesting to see what the final (untill they change it next week) ruling is on "what is a planet"...
It's kind of like eggs, bacon, and coffee. First it's ok to eat it and then it's not. Then, it's ok as long as it doesn't raise your collesterol count off the scale. Then, it's ok as long as the lobyist have enough money to pad everyones pockets. BTW, my pockets all have holes in them!
Seems like everything I like is either illegal, immoral, or fattening!
edit: I forgot about Pluto and why I was posting. IMHO, they should leave well enough alone. Pluto didn't do anything wrong! He was doing just fine out there all by himself. Besides, I'm too old to get re-edumecated!<grin>
Okay... So it has a screwy orbit. We can (one day) fix it. But my question is - does that fall under a WARRANTEE program from General Planets, or is it a "CUSTOMER PAY" option?
I mean - who the heck is going to correct this if it continues on, and is obviously kinda dangerous to the neighboring Planets?
(By the way, who owns them? I don't see any deal memo's or crap like that, so it looks like that real estate might still be potentially saleable...)
*Leafs through an enormous pile of papers*
I am fairly confident that nobody I am affiliated with personally is financially responsible or liable in any way... But since you mention it OH JEEZE, Ya know?
*Whispers: "Do the Japs already know about this? Oh drat. Pity - it might have made for a golf course lease. And look at the write off..."

A dwarf planet is still a planet. Since Pluto crosses Neptune orbit doesn't that make Neptune not a planet (hasn't cleared it's orbit of all objects, Pluto gets in the way once in a while). How long will we have to worry about it away, sooner or later Neptune will collide with Pluto anyway.
