Apparently it was because they didn't want to have to have school children to learn about 40 more Planet type objects like Pluto that also revolve around th sun.
So it was either include and learn 40 more or..... drop one
I'm in favor of keeping Pluto... it's been around long enough, I think. Why should'nt it be a planet? I say, if it's big enough to drive a tractor on and not in orbit around another planet, it's a planet!
Rest in peace, Percival Lowell, and godspeed, Clyde Tombaugh.
I'm with FarmForward....who said they'd have to classify 40 more objects as planets?....(asteroid "ceres" for example)........That's the justification they used recently......."to be fair, we have to add such-and-such, and such-and-such to the planet list because of Pluto".......B.S.......Pluto's been a planet for 75+ years and just let it be......Apparently it's all about "inclusion".......Pluto gets to play, so all the other little boulders floating around up in the celestial soup get to play also.......*******s....
Oops! that last word got "bleeped" out......I didn't know that the slang term for a fatherless child was an obscenity........apologies........
its all because of this other stupid rock thats smaller than pluto that orbits farther away they say that if thats not a planet then its not a plant dont make any sence to me but what the hell they aint sayin that earth aint a planet, anyways pluto is now known as a "dwarf planet" whatever thats supposed to mean
