Say Goodbye to Pluto

Nope...not the animated Disney dog.

The 'Planet' Pluto.

Scientists say it is no longer a planet.

Don't you just hate having to learn all that stuff in grade school then years later you are just supposed to 'forget about it' ?

Just who do these scientists think they are?

I want a refund of my money paid for the celestial map!

Who's going to re-write the science books and encyclopedias????

The next thing you know, they'll say that the moon isn't made of cheese, and that the cow never jumped over it!!
They sure have their nerve. . . . . .

General comment: I'm certain many are pleased that Uranus has maintained it's status.

C'mon, somebody had to start it.......

Looks like semantics to me. It's still an object orbiting the sun. A grain of sand in orbit could be classified a "planet".

Apparently it was because they didn't want to have to have school children to learn about 40 more Planet type objects like Pluto that also revolve around th sun.

So it was either include and learn 40 more or..... drop one

We always have the dog......that doesn't talk

I'm in favor of keeping Pluto... it's been around long enough, I think. Why should'nt it be a planet? I say, if it's big enough to drive a tractor on and not in orbit around another planet, it's a planet!

Rest in peace, Percival Lowell, and godspeed, Clyde Tombaugh.

It's all a big conspiracy and 'they' have been lying all along. Next they'll give us proof that the world really is flat.

I'm with FarmForward....who said they'd have to classify 40 more objects as planets?....(asteroid "ceres" for example)........That's the justification they used recently......."to be fair, we have to add such-and-such, and such-and-such to the planet list because of Pluto".......B.S.......Pluto's been a planet for 75+ years and just let it be......Apparently it's all about "inclusion".......Pluto gets to play, so all the other little boulders floating around up in the celestial soup get to play also.......*******s....

Oops! that last word got "bleeped" out......I didn't know that the slang term for a fatherless child was an obscenity........apologies........
