I have read a bunch of different threads on trans codes.
I have code 628 coming up. Converter Clutch Error.
Some of the threads have talked about the VSS, TPS and the MLPS being possible culprits, other than a bad TC.
My question is: Why wouldn't codes for these various sensors etc show up too?
My trans shifts very hard at times AKA "performance mode".
Other than that it doesn't have any other symptoms of trans trouble.
NO Shudder, no detectable (to me) slipping, Speedo works fine, no OD light flash.
The only other codes on the truck were(332) insufficient EGR flow detected and (172) HEGO shows System always lean.
Thanks KO

When my computer went bad It had fouled alot of other sensors and they were coming up with codes but in order to see the comp I had to fix everything that was bad before that. Seems to make sense once you think about it. If you have a string of A-B-C-D then C and D goes bad. You can't see that D is bad til C is fixed. Sometimes things will give false readings because they are getting bad data too.
Small world I guess. I have been stuck in the Newark/Heath area most of my life. I have 3.55 gears now and have been considering going to 4.10 since I run bigger tires and it seems kinda doggy. I have that on the back burner till I get my front end lifted about 3" to level it out.
