If you buy dove heads about all you have done is spent money on a set of heads that still need ported. The DOVE heads only advantage is they raise the compression, they do NOT flow any better than the D3VE heads, they usually cost more to buy the cores, and they still need just as much work to make power as the later model heads you already have.

I found a good deal on a set of dove heads that have been cleanup, would it be worth it? I would still want to port them. Aslo with a higher compression ratio does that effect the higher the octang has to be? If so what is the highes compression ratio i can run while still unsing 92 octang?

Thanks
Michael

Iron heads I have heard of them living comfortably around 10 to 1 with premium. The higher the octane the more compression you can have. Anything over that and you need to do some serious work to reduce detonation potential. You can pay to have your crank offset ground but in the long run buying a kit would be cheaper IMHO.
