I have a question on the purpose of some linkage.
I have a 66 F100 352 with a cruisomatic. on a 2100 2bbl carb. from the carb to the trasmission there is a bit of linkage. More like a steele rod that goes from the carb (left side) (right side when looking at it) down behind the engine between the engine and firewall to the transmission. This is VERY VERY losse. I was wondering what it is for. I was also wondering if I need to tighten it. Also I am going to rebuild the carb eventually, and when I do I want to know what adujstments are neccessary when I reassemble.
Randy, The linkage you are referring to is the kick down for second gear. The linkage is usually loosely mounted. A couple of new washers will tighten it up , but loose is okay!
