Well, you can add me to the list. My drivers side window scratched today. Deep enough to catch a fingernail in. Hopefully they will replace the glass also.
The dealer replaced my drivers side window molding this morning. It took about 40 min
and I was on my way. The passenger side looks okay but i will keep a eye on it.
Took mine in yesterday they said around 4-5 hours to replace glass and moulding. Then I got a call around 4 hours later saying they didn't want to do it. Wouldn't be able to align everything I didn't really understandwhat they were saying. So they were going to have a body shop do it..So now i am stuck driving this pos focus..Everybody seems to stare at me more in the Focus than my f-250. Why is that??
I'm glad i didn't have to have my window replaced, caught the bad molding early
I can maybe understand them not wanting to do the glass but the molding is something
my dealer said was a simply procedure.

My dealer had a glass company come out to the dealership and install the window.
I regularly wipe the grit off the strips when the windows are down. Takes a second...and avoids the dealership potential to mess something up.
Something to seriously consider because my dealer scratched my paint when they installed my replacement moldings. Four trips later after runs in the paint etc. they finally painted the whole door on each side and had to blend the back door and front fenders on each side.
My dealer just called and said the glass is in. I made an appt to get the work done next Wednesday. Hopefully they don't cause me more trouble than I originally had.
Took the truck in Wednesday. They weren't finished so they kept it another day. I'm driving a dealer supplied Dodge neon. Anyway dealer called today and said there are some issues. They put the new glass in, and when they try to install the rubber as per the TSB, the gap is too small. Ford told them to send it to the body shop to "Adjust" the doors. My service rep went to check it out and says there is no way to "adjust" the gap enough without screwing up the doors. He is keeping the truck another day so he can get on the horn with Ford again. He even mentioned replacing th doors. What a pain in the posterior.
If I remember correctly, the TSB calls for literally bending the window opening.
If it were me, I would NOT allow them to replace the doors for this. Keep the strips clear of grit, as I wrote above. To replace the doors, they will have to paint almost the entire side of the truck, and who knows how well they will be adjusted, etc.
My tint is scratching a tad and I attribute it to the general filthy condition my truck is in 90% of the time. Clean the felt when the windows are down, but I'll take her in at 35k if its bad enouh and they issue a new material or a fix.
Hey guys it only took them four days to fix mine. Then they didn't have the same shop tint the windows that had previously done it, so it didn;t match. Oh yeah and instead of putting limo back on they put like 30 % or something.. Almost forgot the 3 inch long strands of hair between the glass and tint on both windows.. It was purty..So i took it and had to get that fixed $55 outta my pocket.
