I have found a great 55 to buy in Grand Rapids MI. Unfortunately, the quotes I have received from transport companies seem way high. I am transporting in an enclosed carrier to Sacramento CA. I have received three quotes: $1750, $1850, and $2300. Does anybody have a hauler that is reasonable or am I just being cheap? Thanks, Jag
that is actually a little cheaper than I was quoted to move my Vicky from east coast to Az, I ended up bringing it in the back of a 28' Penske rental truck
IMHO That sounds pretty reasonable for enclosed trailer transport 1/2 way across the country. it would cost you about that to rent a Uhaul and open trailer to drive yourself not counting gas and your time and airfare to get there.
Those quotes are just about exactly what a buddy was quoted to bring a Jag out to CA from Florida (enclosed trailer). He had quotes only about $300 less for an open car carrier.
Especially since you generally need to prime them with several adult beverages, or, depending on the floozy, prime yourself with several adult beverages........
Oh well, I was afraid of that. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and pay the prevailing rate. Does anybody have a name they trust more than another? (I'm talking about shippers not floozies!!) I know Dependable Auto Shippers is the one EBay pushes but I've never used them. Thanks, Jag
Jag, Google "Wagoneers" transport, or "Exotic auto transport". Both are soft side enclosed trailers I see plenty of down here, but I believe they are nationwide. Let me try them real quick. I'll be back..
Jag,
I don't know if you've gotten any of my replys but if you look at the first gallery connected to my name, there is a trucker that moved my car a few years back. He did an outstanding job at a reasonable price, I think it was $1400.00.
Jim
Jim, I did get your PM's and responded back. It sounds like you found a great hauler. Unfortunately, I can't read the name of the trucking company on your pic. Is there any chance that you may have the guy's bill somewhere? I tried Fedex, Wagoneers and Exotic Auto Transport. Fedex is $1846, Exotic's quote is pending and Wagoneers said that they will only haul for dealers now. So, the chance of finding your hauler is still giving me some hope of saving some money. Thanks, Jag
