Hey Jag....Is the truck in running condition? I ended up buying a one-way ticket from S.C. to Newport-News Virginia ($400.00) and drove my 54 back home (gas apx. 140.00) and had a GREAT 7 hour journey...(priceless!).
If yours does run and you have time you could do that or just fly in and rent a uhaul and trailer and oull her home....
Did the same, bought the panel sight unseen in NM and my wife and I drove it cross country to NC in 2 1/2 days. Talked about what we were going to do to it the entire trip.
Yea I thought about driving it home. At first I was all excited about making good memories. (My optimistic side) Then I thought with my luck, something major will give up the ghost and I'll be stuck in the middle of Wyoming somewhere negotiationg with a filling station mechanic named Jethroe. (My pesimistic side)
Jim, thanks for looking up the info for me. I'll give them a call right away. Jag
WAHOO! Jim, I called Sundays and it's a deal. $1680 for an enclosed trailer door-to-door. They also do not take the car to a central storage facility and then dispatch it on another truck going to CA. DAS said that they might leave it in their center for a week before it actually got loaded onto the delivery truck. So they will pick it up and deliver it right to my door. They don't even want a deposit! Thanks for the lead. Jag

I have used Dependable Auto Shippers 3 times to bring cars from the east to San Diego, each time it has been around $900-1000. I have never used an enclosed trailer because I have never seen a need to...plus it almost doubles the cost.
