Need help with data stamping
A friend of mine came over today with a 49 Panel that he recently bought from New York.
He asked if I could tell him more about the truck's originality from the VIN and the stamping on the firewall. I did the VIN with no problems. However, the stamping on the firewall has me stumped. Can anyone help me?
The VIN is 98RC158624. Firewall stamping is 7 E G 3 564, 5B4 or 584.
It is a 49 with a 239 flathead. That's as far as I got. Unlike the 51/52 VINs, I couldn't tell what plant manufactured the Panel.

I'll give it a go: 7 E G 3 564, 5B4 or 584
This seems to be a typical stamping (although there are as many variations as there were assembly plants) and looks to me like....
Color: 7 or Meadow Green
Plant: EG or Edgewater NJ
Day: 3rd
Month: ___ should be a letter
Car down the line: whatever number follows
If the middle number is '6' it will look like a lower case b
Also, it's a very early '49. Super nice truck!
