c6 second gear

Can someone tel me how many turns out this screw in the modulator should be set at? I am rebuilding my C-6 right now, and sometimes, before the teardown that is, in drive from a stand still it would start in second, and sometime it would start in first. Now in an overhaul a lot of things are getting changed, I would like to have some kind of baseline to work with, If any one knows?????

Starting in 2nd is a valve problem.

It isn't how many turns out, it's how many turns in.
Back the screw out.
Now turn it in slowly until you feel the screw come in contact with the diaphragm.

Give it 2 more turns from there as a starting point.

When Ford went to a select shift transmission in 1967, 2 position was second gear.
Most other manufacturers had a 1-2 shift in that position.

Thank you staurt for backing me up there. I wasn't entirely sure when Ford started doing that.
