~18 years ago I was driving south on I-77 through W.Va and Va. We went into one of the tunnels and when we came out, there was a police helicopter hovering over the interstate with a dozen troopers parked on either side of the road. I nearly soiled my pants (won't say why). I didn't think they were actually waiting for me, but it was still kind of startling.
HA, If you drive between either Phoenix and Tucson or Phoenix and Yuma you can and will get buzzed by A-10's, F-15's, and F-16's
I was driving between Phoenix and Tucson in the summer and I looked over and say an A-10 turn around this mountain (Pichaco Peak) and head right for me. Well, it was hard to drive and watch at the same time, but they pitched up at about 550 feet from the deck.
While taking my family to San Diego one summer we got buzzed by three f-16's. Talk about loud. Then while in California I look to the left and see a Hughes OH-6 from the Border Patrol looking at all of the cars. Fun time on a boaring drive.

That picture (without the Apache) was taken in Virginia. However, I wouldn't put it past Virginia State Police to start using attack helos.
