I finally got around to aligning the beast since the bearing/ball joint change. Unbeknown to me, they ground down/air chiseled a part of the knuckle, and installed alignment cams on the upper BJ's.
Other than the steering wheel being a little off center, the truck drives and tracks straight as an arrow, which after 1+ year of off kilter driving, took a bit of getting used to for me.
I didn't stick around at the shop for the install, my belly was hungry for some fried chicken across the street so I never heard the chisel or grinder...I did ask the owner if my truck was pretty out of whack and he commented that whoever did the BJ install tightened the hell out of them, and she was waaaay out of spec.
Is it common practice for cams to be installed on solid axle vehicles?? I thought all the adjustments were to be made on the BJ?
installing alignment cams around the upper ball joint is the only way to align them. if your wheel is off you can adjust the drag link until it is were you want it with out affecting anything else.
