EOT mod

I see people adding around a 4.7k resistor inline with eot sensor on the 94-97 psd trucks, and it advances the timing, and makes the motor run better, does this hold true for the super duties? i did the 10k mod, and it seems to bring the truck to life, cant wait to get one of jodys tunes, but what about this eot mod?

What are you referring to as the EOT? Or, what does EOT stand for?

correct EOT = engine oil temperature, i saw on the older psd trucks, were they said that depending on that reading the computer varies the timing, and if you put the right value, (around 4.7k) inline with one side, it makes the engine think the oil is cooler then it is and thus advances the timing, and it runs better, but before i go and try this in a 99+ psd i though i should ask

Doesn't appear that anyone has done it on the PSD. Perhaps it's something to look into.

I don't see how that would have an effect on timing. I'd just think that'd make the truck more likely to activate the Cold Ambient Package (raise RPM, close EBPV).

Are you thinking of the 10k mod? It uses a resistor to modify the ICP (injection control pressure) to cause the injectors to fire with a bit more oomph. Not worth much on a chipped truck as the new programming from the chip already modifies the ICP.

Here's some more/better info:

Ask c00nhunterjoe in the OBS PSD forums if he's tried it on an SD... I've never heard of anyone trying it on the SD.

I would have to say no... I know a fair bit but not anywhere near what some of the other members know.
