I need to replace the RH lower ball joint on a '98 F150 2WD. The repair manual I have states the ball joint can't be replaced without replacing the entire control arm. I can't find the lower control arm for sale anywhere. I've found plenty of lower ball joints, but I still don't know how to remove the old ball joint. Anyone know how to unass the old joint?

 

They press out. You can beat them out but that is a PITA. Local "Autozone " auto parts stores in my area will lend you a c-clamp type press. The uppers are the ones that come with the arms.
