? on ball joint change
Fellas, I'm normally a poster in the 87-96 forum, but I have a question for you guys. My buddy has a 97 4wd f150. Needs all four ball joints. The book says that they MUST be replaced as a unit with the control arms. The OEM ball joints are still in service in the truck. I can see this for the upper ball joints, but is this true for the LOWERS also? I read that great ball joint write up, and I see nothing concerning this. Removing the lower control arm looks kinda cumbersome. Any help is greatly appreciated.
