The interior door handles are different, since they also actuate the door locks. I don't think that there was any difference in the exterior handles.
Other differences are the heater controls, radio opening, rear view mirror mount (although probably not on that truck), hood badges, and minor design differences in the pedals.
The door handles on the interior of the 67's is a handle that you pull up to open the door and can push down to lock the door. If you are familiar with an 80's model inner door handle, these are very similar in how you open the door with them. They are not mounted in the door/arm rest though. Later models went to the squeeze model located in the arm rest.
Other differences include the grill and bed reflectors.
yeah...my truck has a 1969 VIN plate in the door...but after reading a few things I noticed that mine is all 1967...my favorite is the fan heater switch...pull to switch to heat and rotate for fan speeds.....Electro-mechanical inovation at it's best!
The 67 is just somewhat of a mutt. The body style changed from the 66 but many of those little things remained the same. Then they changed those in 68 leaving the 67 as a very unique blend of the two models. For me, I think they got it just right with the 1967 models.
The body side molding is only 1 1/4 inch wide on the '67. It got wider with age (starting in '68). I think the brake light switch was also different than all the other years.
That narrow chrome lasted until Dec 67, or about a third of the way through 68 production. Other unique things...
-front drums larger diameter, narrower shoes
-clutch/brake pedal bracket geometry different
-brake light switch/ master cylinder
-rear view mirror
-two piece dash harness in earlier trucks, 3 plug to 2 plug harness on RH side
-hood side ornaments-no reflector
-custom cab nameplates-red background
-basic and deluxe heater control option-on basic you had to adjust the hot
water valve from the engine compartment
-352 engine
-plastic washer fluid bag
-bed support cross pieces
Any body else think of any? Check out Thom's 67 ford site for good info..
the electric plugs were differant too on the switchez. the they were the 66 style plugs withe the 67-72 style switch. iv got a 67 f250cs and was told i couldnt use 68-72 because of that.
You're right but it was mainly the ignition switch that was unique. Other than the brake light switch and that, the harness plugs were common. I installed a 71 harness in a 67 one time but used the newer ignition switch (68-72) and brake pedal/switch assembly. Didn't even have to modify the heater switch wire.

MK,
I have a 67 with a wiring harness that likes to let the smoke out if you know what I mean. So far it's left me stranded a couple of times and I have intermitent problems with the fuse block smoking without the fuses ever blowing! The most amazing part is that the harness is pretty much stock - no one has really chopped on it!
You mentioned that you've installed a '71 Harness in a 67. Besides the ignition switch and brake switch was there ANYTHING else you can remember? I would like to replace the underdash and underhood harness... really the whole gosh darn thing!
The next part of my question is does anyone make a replacement harness for these trucks? I don't really want to do a "Painless" type install... I would prefer a more stock setup.
David-
When I did that dash harness swap, I also used the front engine harnesses (RH and LH). The center harness for the oil sender, temp gauge and distributor should be the same. Make sure the harness you get is for the same instrument cluster ( ie-all gauges or gauges and idiot lights) as the wiring for a full gauge cluster and the mixed cluster is different. Harnesses from 69 and up are better as they adopted protection for the alternator circuit. 69's had a fuse and 70-72 had fusible links built in. You may have to adapt neutral start switch wiring depending on your transmission and will have to splice your 67 brake switch wires. The tail harness hook up under the master cyl should be the same for all years. I think that covers all the bases but if I think of anything else I'll post it. Anybody else with with experience feel free to jump in here...
