Does anyone have a diaghram for the vacuum lines from the pump to the wheel hubs. Or is it just a straight line with T off to each front hub. I know I have an issue with vac leak, but would at least like to see the drawings of the lines prior to just pulling the hubs off. Thanks Jim
PS I did a search but did not find the information.
I don't have a vacuum routing diagram, but I'm pretty sure it's a straight shot. If you are suspecting the hubs as the leak source you can remove the line at the hub and pull a vacuum on them from there. If it's a problem with the vacuum lines it would most likely be down at the hubs where the tubing is most exposed to the elements.
Thanks Scott I will check into it,, noticed you use biodiesel,, I have been looking into vegoil diesel. My issue I haven't found a tank to use for the vegoil yet. I can get a custom tank that will fit inside but I don't want to use interior space. I am trying to get underbody, but then there is no filler neck penetration is the side. I will check the hubs after my visit to the expensive hotel where they all wear white clothing and they give you greenes open in the back to wear. :-(
Are you driving an Excursion, or just don't want to give up the bed space for a tank?
I drive a 2000 Excursion. If it was a P/U I would use the bed tank. So a strap on type tank for the Ex would be in order then I have to have a body shop put a filler door. Can't give up the interior space, I haul airplane parts and need the room. Jim
If you are going to try to trace your vacuum leak I suggest you buy a "mitymite" vaccuum pump. It is about $30 and will save you many headaches try to trace it down. You can also bleed your brakes with it so double duty. Mine turned out to be the PVH Solenoid. The diagram "amiller93" posted is the only on I've ever found.
Good luck, Joe
Joe would you believe my neighbor gave me one yesterday when I told him I was going to hunt for the vac leak. We live in La. in the Katrina disaster area and both his and our home was very seriously damaged and unlivable for 6 months. He thanked me for helping him with his home/equipment damage and gave me the vac. tester. Nice equipment. (We both have moved back into our homes after we rebuilt them) No Fema, State or City helping, Just us working on our own homes. Jim
One last question. I haven't looked yet but just wondering. The disconnect for the vac. line to the hubs,, is it something that just unplugs by the spindle assembly or is it a continuous line from the source. Thanks Jim
