mazda 2500 engine bucking and stalling

I just purchased a 1998 mazda 2500 (same as Ranger)4cyl 2wd 5spd with 91000 miles. The crankshaft position sensor was replaced 500 miles before i bought it because the engine was bucking and stalling. The truck ran fine for the first 50 miles after I bought it and slowly started the same problem again until it got almost impossible to drive.I had the codes checked and was told the same sensor was bad. I replaced the sensor myself and the car ran better for a short time and is starting to stall again. When the engine begins to stall i step on the accelerator and the problems stops at wide open throttle, but if i begin to back off the gas it will begin to stall again. Any help on where to start looking would be greatly appreciated.

Try removing the TPS control (throttle position sensor). Take the electrical connection off and remove the 2 screws. With an ohm meter attached to the leads, turn the control with a screwdriver through the full range. The ohms should go up, and when released should go back down to 0 ohms. If it doesn't go up and down, I would replace it.
