Big Oil or Stage II Injectors

Big Oil or Stage II Injectors
OK, after I install this Van turbo next weekend, I need some info on my next mod goal. I plan on a Spearco or a Diesel Innovations intercooler for lower EGTs and better flow, thats a given. But, what would seem to be best choice with those mods in mind and the ones I already have, a dual HPOP set-up or the Stage II split-shot(80HP) injectors? I know what ever I choose I have to have Jody reprogram my chip. I hear he has really good Big Oil tunes for stock injectors. Horsepower wise, I have more than enough to do what I need, but I also want to get the best out of my set-up. Thanks.

I don't have any experience with big oil, so I can't really comment on that. I will say that stage II splits and a strong tune is much more powerful than any stock injectored rig I've driven or ridden in. I have a hard time envisioning a pump change bringing stock injectors to that level. Since stage II's don't need big oil my vote would be for the injectors.....unless you have plans for even bigger injectors down the road.

Rampage! i thought you had a 2000 or 2001 truck. in that case, my vote is big oil. i would NEVER risk portholing a block with aftermarket (even stage ones) injectors. unless you have $10K+ to put into another motor, i would stay away from that blurry line where the PMR's are safe and where they can fail. im doing everything i want appearance from now on and saving a chunk of $$ and pulling the motor and building it up right. the 530's will go in then.

well let me say this-
my truck dynoed 291hp with stock injectors. yeah it's a solid number, but lower than most even for people with less mods than i. i believe it's the tranny losing the HP. well since then i have added my fuel system, and the ATS housing should be on by next weekend. so that should put me around 300-310 im guessing. add 80hp for injectors, and then add a few more due to the extra power squeezed out from the tuning, and BAM you are teetering on the 400hp mark. sure you could get larger injectors and get extremely retarded injection timing to detune the injectors somewhat so its a "safe" 400hp, but i would not go with injectors if i had the choice of injectors or oil. do the oil now, and later on you will have the oil already so when you want larger injectors (you know you WILL in your future) you wont have to dish out the money for that. if you want the one-in-front-of-the-other design you wont need to remove the fuel bowl, i dont think. but getting larger injectors, you would need a nice fuel system to feed them. with big oil you wont NEED to modify the fuel system, just wait until you get cash for that.
to get a BTS stacked HPOP (looks like youre not going with him due to what youre going through now with him) you will need to remove the fuel bowl like i did.
