[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Jul-02 AT 11:01 AM (EST)]Great job Mark! I can sure identify with a LONG stalled project. I started on my 64 when my son was little. I have pictures of him scraping the dirt off the frame. My wife used to kid me about him driving it to his college graduation. Well, he graduated last May and the ol truck didn't make the trip! She DID take him out to the garage in his cap and gown for a picture with the truck though!
I'll use your story for some inspiration! Thanx,
Thanks for the comments, the mirrors are origional, and came with the truck in 1966. It is amazing that they have not hit anything in 36 years. I did have to take them apart, sand blast and prime and paint, but that was it.
About the mirrors...they are a dealer installed accessory in 65-6, they are called Jr West Coast mirrors, I was fortunate enough to find a perfect pair at a swap meet for a 10 spot, that money hardly touched my hand on the way out...best bargain i have found in years!!!! I do have a few parts for the setup if anyone is interested.
Wow............ :-staun
Nice truck. I wish my 65 could be that clean. But alass it whould truely be a waste of money. Once a work truck allways a work truck.
Do you sill have the OEM camper?
My Brother has a white with red 66 thats all OEM and hes got the orig camper roll out incert. It even came with the OEM propane tank! He had to get a new one cause of the new filler things. That pissed us off cause we had to change the regulator.
