Explorer - Mustang fuel pump interchange
Last week the fuel pump in my 91 Explorer died.When I pulled it out, I compared it to one that I had pulled out of a 91 Mustang 4 cyl.The two pumps were identical, the same Ford part # on the side and the same flow rating stamped on it even though the parts store showed a different number for the Explorer and Mustang pumps.I replaced the Explorer pump with the Mustang one since I knew it was in good shape and fairly low miles and it has been working without any problem.I just thought I would mention it if anyone was curious.
