Dwell For 64 292

Giving the old gal a tune up, set the points to .014 -- I'm wondering what the wisdom is on this. (Yeah, I know I should be running pertronix, I'll get around to it eventually) The range is .014 to .016 point gap. Dwell is 26, does this sound about right. As the rubbing block wears, the point gap will narrow I'm thinking. Is it better to set the points to the high side initially (.016); as the point gap decreases the dwell should increase correct? Or does the slop in these old dist. hork everything up. Runs great as set, starts up nice.

I always set points at 19 and plugs at 32, that is until I got pertronix. I say if its running good leave the hood shut. Drive on!

I set my points at .019 and it backfired like crazy..should thhe points spark when I turn the engine. When I set them at 16, i get no spark at my coil....19 i get spark at my coil and on the points...should they be set on the hi side of the mount
