So for the last 2 years my tailgate had been a real pain to open, requiring just the right touch. Recently it got to the point where I had to use both hands just to get it to release. So today I had some spare time at work and decided to pull the access panel off and see what was up. I ended up just putting a few drops of 30W on all the hinge points and now it opens with a feather touch. Just thought I'd let you all know incase you had the same problem, only took about 5 mins and it's so nice.
i used to use penzoil on a old delivery truck in that sort of manor it gells up great and dont run too bad but hey at a buck a quart what more can u ask for
Mine seems like something inside it stretched, so I can pull the handle the whole way out, but unless I push the tailgate back towards the truck, it won't open. It's just been getting worse and worse, but I keep forgetting to take it apart.
I’m not sure what you mean exactly. I never had to push the tailgate to get it to open, but I often needed to pull on the handle hard with both hands. Inside you can adjust the linkage as well.
