I have the same year Taruas. It came with a rusty/orange looking antifreeze. Well, when it got low I added the the tradition green antifreeze. The 2 did not mix, it corroded the fins on the pump down to the point it was'nt pumping. When it went out it went out rapidly. If I was at a light it would run hot hot until I reved it up and it would go down some. Driving on the Autobahn (stationed in Germany at the time) it would start to creep up to the hot level....then I could put it in nuetral and rev it up I could see the temp go down. When I changed it out bits of metal fin came out with it. Sorry for brining up a car in a truck forum but its just something to think about.
