Umm I don't want to advocate blocks for lifting but your confusing using front blocks on a leaf sprung front VS a coil sprung front. The reason blocks are bad is the provide extra leverage on the springs from the axle but on a coil the radius arm is solid and doesn't allow for the axle to pivot (think ladder bars here) I am betting that in this application you will not notice any issues with that type of block setup, it's just not the same thing, and the issues of lifting leaf sprung suspesions using blocks do not apply in this situation.
As much as that hurts my eyes, Rob makes a very good point. The radius arms act as links that control the leverage there. Not the way I'd do it but not as critical as its with a leaf sprung suspension.
it seems to me that hes putting a LOT LOT of stress on the u bolts with that set up. Not only are they doing the track bar, but they are also supporting the weight of the vehicle trying to rotate the arms w/ how the springs are mounted to it. I would be really scared to drive that
notice I said I didn't want to advocate blocks, just wanted to clear up what is bieng confused between teh different types of suspensions. Thats a long ways from advocating doing it that way. heck I am thinking he should have used coilevers, and 3 or 4 link instead, now that would have been a cool setup.
