get a good sized jack and try to lift the Tcase a little to check the mount bushings on the Tcase and the Tranny, a bad mount will cause a thunk like that...

EDIT:after re-reading your posts i noticed you said its seems like its coming from inside the case, i guess you would have noticed if it moved while you where watching it....but just to be sure you should check those mounts and your motor mounts too....

Well, got some stuff accomplished today, got the cd player and subs in, battled a major vapor lock issue that was keeping me from driving over a mile, found out my loose steering is due to a bad trac bar bushing. I bought some el cheapo gauges, just to watch actual temps and pressures instead of idiot lights, but i dont know where the oil pressure sending unit is. Is it the sensor on the top backside of the block? also made some ghetto seat covers out of some black t shirts, and it doesnt look half bad at all, espcialy since jeffs bronco grave yard wants 175 bucks for some.
Do the brakes ussually suck on these things? I did the back brakes, opened them up cleaned them, greased the adjusters and adjusted them, I havent got to the fronts yet, but what should I expect braking wise? thanks guys.

Sounds like you got things rolling fast.
Brakes usually aren't the best on these older rigs, but I don't understand why.
One of the best upgrades I've heard of was the F250 or 350 brake boster, and the calipers(I'm to tired to remember what to call it, but there are 2 in the F250 calipers over the 1 in the 150 ones).

Yea, the oil pressure sensor is on the back of the block right behind the intake.

For putting an oil preasure gauge in you don't have to tee into the same port as the factory one. There is another port right above the fuel pump. It will currently have a plug in it, I beleive it's 3/8" NPT if I recall correctly.

the one by the fuel pump is before it goes into the lifter gallery right after the oil filter, the one on the back is after going through the left lifter gallery and to the mains, most people actually find they read pretty close. basically the one on the rear will give yo accurate as to what goes to the #5 main bearing and passenger side lifters. The one on the front is what is going to the front main, and drivers side lifters or another way to look at it, is the front one is before the major oil leaks, the one on the back is after.

and I just went and looked at my old cleveland block, the fitting is beside the fuel pump to the rear, and it is 3/8 pipe thread.

When I drove the bronco, I had about 45* of slop, and I wasnt sure were it was comming from, I checked all the tierod ends rag joint, and the box, but didnt think to check the trac bar because I'm used to messing with ttb. well......... let the pictures talk. think I can reuse them?

Looks like there is plenty of life left to those bushings. lol
New bushings should help fix most of the slack.

Yea I figured somthing was wrong when I pulled on the bar and it moved about an inch. I got new bushings from Adavance Auto, but had to do some trimming on them to make them fit, even when i cleaned the eyelet in the bar I just couldnt get them in. Just took it for a test drive a few minutes ago, 100% better, Just a couple degrees of play, way within limits. Now just to figure out which one of my tires is out of balance...................

Yeah, I've said that before too. Never lasted too long. Guess I just got no self control. The power of the mud was always too strong. It was calling me.
I must obey.
