hey all its me again im lookin to figure out what exhaust my go good with my truck. lookin for a deep throaty rumble from a dual exhaust any one got any good lay outs the truck is an 89 f250 with a 302 fuel injected.
Won't be as loud with anything with the converters intact, though. Whether you want to bust the catalyst out or not is up to you.
A cherry bomb shooting straight out just under the passenger's hiney is the best sounding one for my 302 and my tastes. By the way, all of my converters are gutted...
I've been through several mufflers, though. It might take you awhile to find the sound you want.
A Flowmaster might be the best bet if you're looking for a deep, throaty rumble, though. Just keep in mind... 302's aren't the loudest 'lil fellers out there.
Good luck!

Yeah I used to have a 5.0 as well....definitly not the loudest thing in the world. But the setup I liked best was stripped cats and it was either a 40 or 50 series Flowmaster,.....had a nice rumble to it
if your 250 is setup the same at the 150, its true dual h pipe, with the o2 ensor in the cross pipe of the h. It goes into the collector, where the 2 pipes goes into 1. have the ehxaust shot cut your piping right before the 2 pipes go into the collector and start your exhaust from there.
I am going to do 2 cats with piping through them with 2 dynomax ultra flo mufflers. It should give me the highest flowing exhaust i can get with it looking legal(need cats and mufflers here)
if you do flowmasters, weld them. Any other filament muffler you shoudl clamp. Piping will prolly last longer then the mufflers.
I know a kid who has stock 302, manifolds with straight pipes and 2 glasspacks. Honestly, its annoying and sounds extremely crappy.
I liked my 302 with a Cherry Bomb and duals. Then, I cut the CB out and left it straight-pipe duals... Great sound, although not as loud as I would've liked...
Maybe these new headers I'm going to put on will fix that...
