I'm lookin' for a good sounding, low rumble, exhaust for my '97 F-150 4x4 (4.6 L.). Not loud like straight pipes or glass packs. I am also gonna run duals out the rear.
Exhaust sound is largly a matter of personal choice.
In my opinion the Raven sounds too much like a ricer exhaust, too tinny sounding for me
The Flowmaster on the other hand has a deep smooth rumble, more like an American v8 should sound!!
And yes, I have heard Raven mufflers on a variety of cars and trucks.
Just my own opinion.
those sound clips do nothing for there truck systems , in person is where it counts, i work at a muffler shop and have installed both, and the raVin system sounds better to my ears.
the other guy who says they souns like rice cars has not heard the Z wave style mufflers. they are very a highend product and very well built.
Are they as loud as FM 40's? Last night i bought a 95 F250 with a 460 and want to put either FM 40's which I know rock or Race bullets but if Ravins are the real deal I may even consider them. I wish I could here them better though. I am looking for the sound of muscle that can be heard from a few blocks away like my Flowmasters on my FE410.
Hey Diesel , how much does a Z-wave ravin cost ? I am currently redoing the exhaust on my 90 F350 with a 460 . I have 3 inch pipe from the Y all the way back( no cats) . I was going to install a 50 series Flowmaster but if the price is not too much different I might try a Ravin .
In your opinion Diesel, do you think I should go true duals with 2 mufflers or just get the one you showed with a single inlet and dual outlet? Which would sound better? I am planning on having the cat removed, i know a place that will do it so it should sound pretty growly
if you can get a shop to make true duals go for it
2 ravins are better then one !
i work at a muffler shop and i have 88 mustang shorty headers with true dual 2.25" pipes with a "H" setup for the o2 sensor running to twin raVins leading to twin "lightning" style stainless 3" tips right in front of the rear tire . it looks and sounds sweet
BTW i used to have a 1990 F250 7.3 diesel 2x4 that had the single inlet dual outlet raVin on it , it was very loud to say the least for a diesel . i miss that truck so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!
stupid me traded (gave it away) it in for a 2002 explorer for my girlfriend
