I believe what you are interested in is called a door glass run. www.LMCTRUCK.com sells a complete replacement unit called a anti-rattle kit for 149.95 US per door. To the best of my knowledge it just snaps in so all you should need to do is slide something under the trim edge and pop it free.
I dont need the trck, I just need the rubber, or felt. the track is there. I did find the felt on LMC though.
Dennis,
I have good felt in the door that is on the truck, but the dorr isnt any good. I have a spare door that I stripped and paint, fixed the crank gear and new handles but couldnt figure out how it comes out. i will try prying it out.
If you pop off the door panel, and reach up there, you can grab the end of it. You'll probably need to pull down and out at the same time due to 30 years worth of corrosion and old glue. If you have trouble getting it in, put the window up about half way, wedge it in and when it stops, crank the window down while pushing the felt down with it. You might have to roll it back up some and do it a few times to get it all the way down. Hope that helps ya.....
Well excuse me. I was just trying to be helpful and it just so happened I just got my latest cataloge from a company I've had good service from so that source was fresh in my head.
I know you are being helpful and that's what it is all about.
However, without sponsors FTE may not exist, by patronizing FTE's sponsors they will in return keep advertising on FTE keeping it available to people who need help.
IIRC, LMC was asked if they would like to sponsor/advertise on FTE, they refused.
They just want your money
There is fantastic service available from Mac's & BOTP..... You can mention you are an FTE member in your dealings.
Plus, from my time and experience here .....more quality in their products.
Dennis Carpenter is my First Choice after considering sponsor sites since they have the ford tooling.
