Airtex water pump????

Has anybody heard of these???I'm looking for the best quality unit. If these are no good, which one would you recommend? Many thanks

Gotta link to the Airtex pump?

I replaced mine with a new unit from pepboys about 80K ago, no problems so far. It was the cheapest I could find, about $100 if I remember right.

Airtex is the brand our local auto parts store sells...$210.00 for a new pump. I was just curious if they were any good or not. I've had my fill of cheap chinese parts...The tires that were on my truck when I bought it were YKS. Lets just say, there wasn't enough space on the rim for wheel weights to balance these things. Absolute garbage.

There is a seller on ebay with an Airtex for the 7.3 (AW4114) with Buy It Now for about $100 incl shipping. He has a good rep also.

I am not familiar with their pumps but the Airtex web site claims to be an OE manufacturer.

Airtex pumps used to be made in Fairfield, IL. Now they just make fuel pumps. I believe the water pumps are "made" in Arkansas. When they were "made" in IL, I was told they did a lot of re-boxing.

I used the Airtex line of waterpumps and fuel pumps when I worked in the auto repair business for 15 years. Had no problems with their products. They seem to have a good reputation for quality.
