Drive shaft

I found another 3 speed tranny but it is roughly 5 inches longer in the tail shaft section of it. Would i be better off to have my 2 peice drive shaft cut or to try to locate a one peice? Its a 76 f-150 long bed to have it cut and balanced is roughly 100$ didnt try to find a one peice yet but im sure I could get it at the salvage yard for 100 or less just not sure which way to go.
Any thoughts?

I'm not sure you would be able to find a one piece that long at a boneyard... if you did, chances are pretty good it'd be bent or unbalanced. i'd just cut and balance the one ya got and go with it... JMO

late 80's and early 90's ford E-150 vans have a super long 1 piece driveline that's easy to cut down. Most yards are dirt cheap for stuff like that.

Yep I agree with raceboy!! Just take the one you have and have it cut to size and balanced.... The problem you'll run into going with a long one piece shaft will be setting up the right pinion angle....and thats critical.....
