Pirelli... That would be the last set on my truck. I mean NEVER again. The thing is... People don't really understand how nice it is to have a web site like FTE. Now when a 100 or so people read about stuff like this. Do you really think we will be buying any Pirelli's in the future? Good luck....
I had the same problem with goodyear ATS 285/75/16. I fought with the insurance and tire company for over a year before I gave up. My truck was out of warrenty, but I felt that someone should pay for the damage.... None the less, clean the ***** out of my pants when it blew at 75 on the highway, sounded like the hole front end came out of the truck. I always run 80 psi not knowing when i will have to tow something its better to be safe than sorry! Did you happen to feel the tire after the blowout? Was it warm or hot? Glad everyone is ok!
Contact the Ford Customer Care hotline. The number is in your manual.
Dealers don't like to hear from them. On my previous problem truck I made a call to them and less than 10 minutes later I had the Service manager from the dealership call me at home and apologize. Took my truck in the next morning for the problem and got it back detailed. It is a card you can only play once, but your situation seems to appropriate.
Some dealers you have to play the yes/no game with. You keep saying yes, they keep saying no and somebody has to give in first. I'd say call the salesman, but most car salesman around here don't last as long as a tank of gas.
