Welcome to FTE Ron...

For your JL SB question, I canna be of too much help, but the space behind the rear seat is no-go for most of your standard issue/size amps. Unless you plan on keeping the rear seat off for some sort of air-circulation.
I'd prolly go for under the rear seat or under the front seats. At least that way you'll have some sort of air movement going on.

I listened to an 06 with a JL Stealth box that was in the center console and it sounded excellent. Only problems I had was that it was a bit pricey($500) and it consumes most of the center console. If you don't use the storage then it might be worth it. When it hit it was like having a jackhammer hit you.

ive got the center console stealth box and i like it. Came with the truck so price wasnt an issue. Has some nice tight bass somtimes to much so im looking into some 6" seperates for the doors or fitting some 6x8 in there. The rockford replacements that are in the doors sound good but somtimes i need a little more...

fjmaze...If you can find a FoCal speaker dealer in your area or close to you it will be worth your time. These are the best sounding door speakers that I've ever had. They are pricey, but well worth the cost. I heard them next to a set of the best BostonAcoustics.
I had never heard of this brand until I went in to buy a couple pair of BA's.

I haven't seen this console sub. I checked the JL website and still can't find it.

Yes...I have the FoCal's in my truck and they replace the stock speakers. I had seperates in one of my other F250's, but they were in kick panels that are nothing but a problem. They are always in your feet and especially in the FORD F250/350 series.

The StealthBox on the ebay site doesn't look like it's the correct one for the F250...You may be looking for an F150. I only buy new in box JL items since I got burned for buying an unboxed amp and after a month it died. No warranty repair and it had moisture damage. I use it to hold open one of the doors in my shop.

I have the Stealthbox in my 04' Excursion with a JL Audio 300w amp pushing it & it hits hard as s***& I have the gains on the amp turned all the way down. If you are looking for some sweet sounding speakers try finding a shop that has Dynaudio and they will blow away every speaker including Focal, but they are power hungry, I had to add another amp because they were underpowered with 150w going to each speaker. I now have a JL Audio 300/2 bridged going to each speaker, so that's 2 300/2 amps puting out 600w driving one pair of component speakers.

I’ve got a JL Audio Stealth Box (SB-F-SUPRCNSL/10W3v2) in my 2005 F250 Crew Cab. Performs very well. Amps are behind the rear seat, mounted on a custom bulkhead I had fabricated. A JL Audio 250/1 drives the subwoofer, a JL Audio 300/4 amplifier drives the front and rear speakers (Boston Acoustics SL80s). Head end unit is a Kenwood DDX8017. I balanced the whole system using a sound pressure meter (Radio Shack) and calibration CD I got off the web.

Regarding the bulkhead, I mocked it up using a piece of fiberboard. I used that to develop a set of drawings that I handed over to a local metal fab shop. They made it out 3mm aluminum. The way I “staggered” the panel (can sort of see it in the picture) provides the clearance needed for the cab vents in the back wall of the cab, and provides the room to mount and ventilate the amps. Ford very conveniently provided four hard points to mount it.

Steve

I had the console based stealthbox in my 06 Lariat SC with a JL 500/5 amp driving it and my front and rears. The amp was mounted to the back seat with no problem whatsoever. Sounded awesome and loved it! That little box hits hard! Those components are now for sale. if someone's interested, PM me an offer. I took them out before trading in, reused what I could in the new truck.

I traded the truck in for a 2010 Harley edition F350 and have gone with the new 900/5 amp and the new 13.5" Shallow sub behind the seat. The consoles setup for the newer Super Duties have a smaller Console space than the previous version. I like the shallow setup, hits harder with the bigger amp, but not quite as low as the stealthbox.
