The rear AC blows cold but the front blows hot. It has the automatic climate control and front and rear AC's. I can operate the rear AC independantly from the front. Even if I switch the front to vent and it is sorta cool out, it still blows hot air like the heat is switched on or something. We're going on Vacation soon and we'd love for the AC to back to normal.
My thought is the control panel is bad. I did a search but came up with hundreds of non related threads. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I would have never known to SEARCH for "Blend Door".
Now that I have, I wish I hadn't.... LOL!
I guess I'll call the stealership tomorrow for the part. I will have no problem replacing it myself. I just wish my garage had air condition... It was 102* today, add the humidity and it feels like 115*.
I called the dealer and they have the assembly in stock, imagine that...
Problem is I'd like to just replace the door if I can with buying the complete assembly. I thought I saw on here that someone had replaced just the door and had gotten just the door from someplace, maybe not the dealer? Dealer says it only comes with the assembly.
research it some more and you will find the part number for the door alone. Just have to ask, you did read how long this takes and the amount of labor involved to do this yourself?
Just send me an email an I have the pictures on how to fix this...usually it is just the blend door motor and not the door itself...although that does break as well.
The door assembly is available from ford for about 45 dollars. You have to remove the dash to replace the door I did it in my driveway with the help of air tools in about 5 hours. just be careful not to break the clips and use a torque wrench when you reassemble to prevent any squeaks. Good luck PS looks for threads on removing the headlight switch. You can break it if not careful.
