that looks really nice, it looks like you have had some fun with it already. what color are you going to paint it? what tires and wheels are you going to get, and how the heck do you get up in that thing!!! i had my step bars off last night to do some herculining to the plastic and i went to town for some more MEK, i had to jump in it and it was all my dad could do to hop up in it. and thats only 6.5" and 33" tires, yours probably sits 4-5" taller!
Okay, the paint. the current plan is red with smoke greay flames and I want it to look like when the flames burnt the paint off it will look like diamond plate underneath. As for the outline on the flames. I havent decided. Yes I am going to paint it and no, I have never done something on a scale like this before. I have painted flames on everything else (mower, mailbox, a couple of little jobs on cars that were to be junked).
The tires on it I want the big bulky fender flares (coming next) and they are to be painted. I think I am going to try and go up to 40's. But my favorite tire is the Swamper TSL / SX, I have had 2 sets on previouse trucks and loved them. Quiet (as a tire like such could be) and the ride is not bad. But they only come in 38.5's. The Iroks are cool and they go to 39.5. But one inch is not going to make a whole lot of difference. The Wheels I have are going to stay. American Racing
The front bumper was built in TX, somewhere but I took the little tag off of it. I will try and look and see if the rear bumper still has it on it. The front bumper was off of another wrecked truck. I had to straiten the right side and it will have to be cut off and redesigned. I plan on doing it when I build my nerf / rock crawler bars. Speaking of the bars a buddy has pnuematic cylinders that we are going to make my bars descend and retract so it will be easy for my kids to get in and out.
As for me getting in and out. I am 6'5. so its not that bad on me. I should hae a few more opics comming I will keep you posted.
rebelchevy02 I eill try and get the brand off of the bumpers. If you like shevy's you should see the 04 duramax we are building, Identical to my truck same lift tires.
My hat is off to you. I too have done a bunch of swapping of parts to get what I want, but never anything of this scale. I don't think I could have taken on something this big. I've helped make a few passenger cars into 4wd's by swapping bodies etc., but this was a great project. You did a fantastic job. A lot of people don't have a clue what is involved in getting something like this run straight down the road again. Thanks for sharing.
Man, that makes me want to go buy a wreck and rebuild one myself...NOT.... I can't begin to skills and work involved in a project like that. It looks great.
It was a lot of work but now I think me and that truck have a lot in common. Blood Sweat and Beer. LOL. thanks for all the replies. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks I am gonna paint it.

Nice work. Most people wouldn't have looked twice and a rig that badly wrecked, except to salvage and steal parts and whatnot. I've seen a lesser wreck go to the crushing yard.
.....I know who I'll go and visit if I ever wreck my truck.
